Esteemed Ladies and Gentlemen:
Out of the respect that we always deserve, and especially so in this month of September, on the 205th Anniversary of our Independence, we permit ourselves to remind the enlightened Government of Sister Costa Rica that Nicaragua is a Dignified and Sovereign country and People and that we do not accept interference by others in our own affairs.
As fraternal Central American Neighbors, we demand relations which take into account, as they should, the essential characteristic of our Republics which 205 years ago began another history which does not allow us to interfere in any way in issues which in no way concern us, given that they correspond to each country’s right to develop Sovereign institutional processes.
We recall that Respect for the Rights of others is Peace, and, noting the great difficulties that exist between the institutions of your country, including serious threats to the safety and life of its highest authorities, including its President, Doña Laura Fernández, we reiterate that we do not interfere, we do not get involved nor do we issue any criteria on matters that belong solely to the People and Government of Costa Rica.
