Presentation to Producers of the
Protection and Security Plan
Coffee Harvest 2026-2027
October 24th 2026
Today at this national opening ceremony of the coffee harvest Cycle 2026 – 2027, I am accompanied by Colonel General Marvin Corrales, Inspector General, member of the High Command, and representatives of the Corps of Generals and members of the Military Council.
Also presiding over this event:
* Compañero Ovidio Reyes, President of the Central Bank of Nicaragua and delegate of the Presidency of the Republic for this important activity.
* First Commissioner Francisco Díaz, Head of the Police Forces, and members of his High Command who accompany him.
* Compañero Laureano Ortega, Presidential Advisor for Investments, Trade and Foreign Cooperation.
* Colonel Rodolfo González, Head of the Sixth Regional Military Command.
* Ministers and representatives of the MAG, MINSA, MARENA, IPSA, INTA, Procuraduría, CONATRADEC, and the Executive Secretary of CONACAFÉ, Juan Ramón Obregón.
Accompanying us we have:
Members of the Diplomatic Corps, Attachés and Heads of Military Missions accredited in our country.
Lic. Leonidas Centeno, Mayor of the city of Jinotega, and Ing. Shadrach Zeledón, Mayor of the city of Matagalpa.
We highlight the presence of an important representation of municipal mayors of the coffee producing departments, as well as representatives of government institutions and entities.
Producers, workers, representatives of cooperatives and trading companies and relevant groups.
We are also joined by comrade in arms in the honorable condition of retirement, to whom we reiterate our appreciation and recognition for their contributions in the defense of the Nation.

Brothers and Sisters all!
Today! as in previous years, we are meeting in these days of October, to carry out the Central Opening Ceremony of the Plan for the Protection and Security of the Coffee Harvest.
This time, this event corresponds to the 2026-2027 Production Cycle, and I would like to highlight the relevant and significant participation of workers, producers, cooperates, traders, exporters and representatives of different sectors.
Acts like this one!, with the presence of more than four thousand people, reflect the level of acceptance and support that all of you give to this Plan for the Protection and Security of the Coffee Harvest.
This significant presence!, is the clear expression and desire of everyone to work so as to produce and prosper in conditions of security, stability, tranquility and peace.
The Protection and Security Plan is the result of an inter-institutional work between different government entities and representatives of the coffee sector, ¡A plan!, which was approved by the Co-Presidents, Commander Daniel Ortega and Compañera Rosario Murillo, and of course with their support.
The necessary resources were guaranteed, so that this plan can be developed with the desired success.
The Protection and Security Plan of the Coffee Harvest, has as its fundamental objective:
To guarantee the best security conditions of stability, tranquility and peace!, to ensure the protection of life and the proper development of the current coffee Production Cycle, so that more than 500 thousand Nicaraguans linked to the coffee sector satisfactorily fulfill their various work activities and thus contribute to the economic development of the nation.
Compañeros and Compañeras producers!
In fulfillment of these goals! we want to tell you that we in the Nicaraguan Army will always be making the maximum efforts to achieve the optimal conditions of security, stability, tranquility and Peace!.
To comply with this Protection and Security Plan for the Coffee Harvest, the Nicaraguan Army will deploy more than three thousand military personnel in the coffee-growing areas of the departments of Matagalpa, Jinotega, Esteli, Madriz, Nueva Segovia, Managua, Boaco, Carazo, and in the municipalities of Nueva Guinea and Ticuantepe, where coffee cultivation is concentrated.
Coffee-growing areas where coordinated efforts will be made with our brothers and sisters of the National Police and the different institutions and authorities, to ensure the success of this harvest.
The Coffee Harvest Protection and Security Plan for the Nicaraguan Army is an important part of the Security Plan for Rural Areas!, A Plan!, from which we guarantee to all of you, farmers and producers, stability and tranquility for the development of your different economic activities such as livestock, agriculture, trade and the transfer of values, and you can be absolutely sure that with this deployment of troops, we will contribute firmly for you to achieve the projected goals in this 2026-2027 cycle, which according to your calculations are of the order of more than 3 million quintals of coffee to be produced.
Brother and sister producers!, in this act……
It is important to remember that security! is a permanent condition to achieve and sustain, because it benefits us all equally; and for that reason, we must all contribute to it, contributing with the institutions which, by mandate of law, have the responsibility to guarantee it.
We should all be aware that it is better to prevent and avoid any increase in crimes than to have to try and restore lost levels of security.
Therefore, it is important to highlight that having excellent levels of security:.... means having stability, tranquility, and having PEACE!
PEACE!, which is the necessary condition to work, to produce, to achieve the well-being of families and to contribute to national development with social justice.
Brother and sister producers!
This day we reaffirm that, by means of this Plan of Protection and Security of the Coffee Harvest, with our forces and means we will fulfill our missions and tasks to prevent assaults, robberies, kidnappings, extortion and murder, crimes which are now distant history in our rural areas.
Our troops will act firmly against any attempt where criminals seek to affect the security of our peasants, producers and rural population in general, and to protect their security means protecting their different productive activities, which benefit their families and contribute to the development of our Nation. Because… Together with all the institutions involved in the formulation of this Inter-institutional Plan for the Protection and Security of the Coffee Harvest.
We have arranged our capacities and the best of our efforts, to support you in everything we can in your dignified and hard work.
Today, we have received plaques of recognition, which we thank you on behalf of all of us who make up the Nicaraguan Army. These plaques reflect the level of trust that you place in this institution that belongs to you and is here to serve you,.... that is why we say: “We are the people themselves in uniform, working for their own benefit.”
I also want to thank on behalf of all my brothers in arms, the expressions of recognition made in their words, by producers Urania Liseth Hernández from Jinotega and Jorlenny Hernández Flores, from Matagalpa
Your words and the presence of everyone at this event encourage all members of the Nicaraguan Army to serve our people in the best possible way. Likewise, our brothers and sister of the National Police thank you, and rest assured that they will also support you, so that the proposed objectives are fulfilled as planned.
Beloved producers and workers of the coffee sector:
It is important to continue strengthening the levels of communication we have achieved, because that communication is a reflection of trust, and this allows us to coordinate efforts so as to meet the goals and objectives set for this harvest, that's why our chiefs and officers have been ordered to attend to you, listen to you, support you, and our military units will always be open to receive you.
To our brother and sister farmers, workers, producers, traders, transporters and the productive sector in general, we reiterate that we will fulfill our missions in the best possible way, and from now on, we wish you success in this harvest.

We tell you all that we are going to ensure the best conditions of security, stability, tranquility and peace.
Peace!, which is the people's guarantee to be able to work, produce, achieve the well-being of families, strengthen the national economy and develop ourselves with social justice.
That is why! everything that these children of the people in uniform do is to contribute with all our strength and energy to guarantee these conditions of Peace!
Peace!, to which we will always contribute and firmly defend, because it is the greatest desire of our worthy and noble people.
You can all can count on this Army which belongs to you and which will always be there to protect and serve you, and to Our brothers and sisters in arms, we say: Let us always remember to act with a high patriotic sense and discipline, thinking only of giving the best of our efforts for the benefit of our people, and... Of course, our recognition to you for the missions to be fulfilled, and always keep in mind that:
Love of our Patriotic Nation!, is and always will be! the main source of motivation in our consciousness and of the energy that guides our actions, therefore, let us always remain loyal, firm and cohesive! contributing to the security and tranquility of our producers and all the rural population.
