Jefe del Ejército de Nicaragua durante el Proceso de Consulta a la Iniciativa de Reforma a la Constitución Política

Doctor Gustavo Porras, Presidente de la Asamblea Nacional, Miembros de la Junta Directiva y Diputados presentes. El día de ayer conocimos, en la Sesión, que se conformó la Comisión Constitucional para impulsar la Reforma a la Constitución Política.
Queremos, en nombre de todos, agradecer la invitación de la Asamblea Nacional para estar aquí con ustedes, para conocer, pues, de primera mano, como usted lo ha expuesto, los alcances de la Reforma a la Máxima Ley de la Nación, como es nuestra Constitución Política. Reformas que se desarrollan como parte de un proceso histórico para fortalecer la Insti-tucionalidad, con el fin de garantizar la defensa de la Paz, la Soberanía, la Independencia y la Autodeterminación de nuestra amada Patria, que son los Derechos irrenunciables de nuestro Pueblo y fundamento de la Nación nicaragüense.
El Ejército de Nicaragua, como única Fuerza Militar del País, cumplimos nuestras misiones y tareas en el marco de la Constitución y las Leyes, aportando significativamente, dando todos nuestros esfuerzos para garantizar las mejores condiciones de Seguridad, Estabilidad, Tranquilidad y Paz, condiciones necesarias para el desarrollo y el Bienestar de todos los nicaragüenses, principalmente de los más necesitados.
Estimados Miembros de la Asamblea Nacional, quiero, en nombre de todos mis Hermanos de Armas que integran el Ejército de Nicaragua, de las Fuerzas Terrestres, de la Fuerza Naval, de la Fuerza Aérea y de la Fuerza de la Reserva Patriótica, representados en este segmento de Compañeros que están aquí presentes en esta histórica reunión, quiero, en nombre de nuestros Soldados, Sargentos, Suboficiales, Funcionarios, Personal Auxiliar y Alumnos en formación militar, en nombre del Consejo Militar, del Cuerpo de Generales, de los Oficiales Superiores, Oficiales Subalternos y, por supuesto, de la Comandancia General, expresarles a ustedes nuestro firme respaldo a la Reforma de la Constitución Política que se realiza en pleno ejercicio de ser Libres, Soberanos e Independientes.
Queremos reafirmar a nuestro Pueblo y a nuestras Autoridades Supremas que los Miembros del Ejército de Nicaragua, como leales y dignos Herederos de los Ideales del General Sandino y de su Ejército Defensor, y leales a la memoria inmortal de los miles y miles de Héroes y Mártires caídos por la Libertad de nuestra Patria a lo largo de la Historia, asumimos el compromiso de respaldar y defender siempre el Derecho de ser Libres y Soberanos para conducir nuestros propios destinos sin la injerencia extranjera.
Por ello, siempre nosotros, cuando salimos desde cualquier punto de la Geografía Nacional con nuestras Unidades, decimos, para cumplir nuestras misiones, que en cumplimiento de nuestras misiones y tareas, en defensa de la Patria y la Institución: ¡Viva el Ejército de Nicaragua! ¡Patria y Libertad!
Que es la máxima aspiración y legado del General Sandino, la cual hacemos propia, y que, juntos, todos los Miembros del Ejército de Nicaragua, junto a los que aman tener Patria, unidos todos, estamos haciendo realidad.

Head of the Nicaraguan Army during the Consultation Process on the Initiative to Reform the Political Constitution

Dr. Gustavo Porras, President of the National Assembly, Members of the Board of Directors and Deputies present. We learned, at yesterday’s session, of the Constitutional Commission which has been formed to promote the Reform of the Political Constitution.
On behalf of us all, we would like to thank the National Assembly for inviting us to be here with you so as to get to know first-hand, as you have explained, the details of the Reform of the Nation's Highest Law, namely our Political Constitution. Reforms being developed as part of a historical process of institutional reinforcement in order to guarantee the defense of Peace, Sovereignty, Independence and Self-Determination of our beloved Patriotic Nation, which are the inalienable Rights of our People and the foundation of the Nicaraguan Nation.
The Nicaraguan Army, as the only military force in the country, fulfills our missions and tasks within the framework of the Constitution and the Laws, contributing significantly, giving all our efforts to guarantee optimal conditions of Security, Stability, Tranquility and Peace, the necessary conditions for the development and well-being of all Nicaraguans, especially the most vulnerable.
Beloved Members of the National Assembly, I want, on behalf of all my Brothers and Sisters in Arms who make up the Nicaraguan Army, the Land Forces, the Naval Force, the Air Force and the Patriotic Reserve Force, represented in this group of Compañeros and Compañeras, present here at this historic meeting, I want, on behalf of our Soldiers, Sergeants, Non-Commissioned Officers, Civil Servants, Auxiliary Personnel and Students in military training, on behalf of the Military Council, the Corps of Generals, Senior Officers, Junior Officers and, of course, of the Highl Command, to express to you our firm support for the Reform of the Political Constitution that is being carried out in full exercise of being Free, Sovereign and Independent.
We want to reaffirm to our People and our Supreme Authorities that the Members of the Nicaraguan Army, being loyal and worthy heirs to the ideals of General Sandino and his Army in Defense of National Sovereignty, loyal to the immortal memory of the thousands and thousands of Heroes and Martyrs who have given their lives for the Freedom of our Patriotic Nation throughout history, we are committed to always support and defend the Right to be Free and Sovereign, leading our own destinies without foreign interference.
Therefore, always on our part, when we depart with our units from any point of the national geography, for example to carry out our missions, we do so in fulfillment of our missions and tasks, in defense of the Nation and the Institution: Long live the Nicaraguan Army! A Patriotic Nation and Freedom!
That is the greatest aspiration and legacy of General Sandino, which we make our own, and which, together, all the Members of the Nicaraguan Army, together with those who love their Nation, all united, we are making a reality.
