La Misión Permanente de Nicaragua ante las Naciones Unidas saluda atentamente a la oficina del Secretario General de las Naciones Unidas y tiene a bien referirse a las recientes declaraciones de la Embajadora del Estado de Israel en Costa Rica y del Cónsul de Israel en ese mismo País. En dichas declaraciones los funcionarios de Israel afirman que en Nicaragua existe ahora una base de terrorismo que es utilizada como plataforma para el terrorismo en la región.
Al respecto, Nicaragua rechaza tales declaraciones, las cuales tienen el objetivo de desviar la atención del genocidio que está llevando a cabo Israel en los territorios palestinos ocupados, las flagrantes violaciones de derecho internacional humanitario, así como los sistemáticos crímenes de lesa humanidad y crímenes de guerra que son el resultado de una política de terrorismo de estado.
Nicaragua, en firme cumplimiento con sus obligaciones internacionales ha roto relaciones con el Estado de Israel, al igual que ha solicitado su intervención en el caso incoado por la República de Suráfrica por violaciones a la Convención para la Prevención y Sanción del Delito de Genocidio en la Franja de Gaza y está tomando otras acciones legales que contribuyan a detener el genocidio del Pueblo palestino y terminar la ocupación ilegal de Israel, tal y como ha sido confirmado por la Corte Internacional de Justicia en sus dos opiniones consultivas.
Nicaragua desea señalar al Secretario General y los estados miembros que la escalada de las declaraciones de Israel en contra de Nicaragua son inaceptables intentos por desacreditar las oportunas y legales acciones que Nicaragua está llevando a cabo en defensa del derecho internacional y de la Carta de las Naciones Unidas. El Gobierno y el Pueblo de Nicaragua se mantendrán firmes en el cumplimiento de sus obligaciones internacionales y en el ejercicio soberano de sus derechos a mantener relaciones internacionales con los Gobiernos y Pueblos del mundo en condiciones de Igualdad y Solidaridad.
La Misión Permanente de Nicaragua ante las Naciones Unidas reitera a la oficina del Secretario General de las Naciones Unidas las muestras de su más alta estima y solicita que la presente nota sea circulada como documento oficial.

NOTE TO THE UNITED NATIONS
NICARAGUA IS SOLIDARITY!
The Permanent Mission of Nicaragua to the United Nations presents its compliments to the office of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and has the honor of referring to recent statements by the Ambassador of the State of Israel to Costa Rica and the Israeli Consul in that same Country. In these statements, these Israeli officials affirm that there is now a terrorist base in Nicaragua which is being used as a platform for terrorism in the region.
In this regard, Nicaragua rejects such statements, which aim to divert attention from the genocide being carried out by Israel in the Occupied Palestinian territories, its flagrant violations of international humanitarian law, as well as its systematic crimes against humanity and war crimes that are the result of a policy of State terrorism.
Nicaragua, in firm compliance with its international obligations, has severed relations with the State of Israel, as well as requesting to participate in the case initiated by the Republic of South Africa for violations in the Gaza Strip of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide and is taking other legal actions by way of contributing to stopping the genocide of the Palestinian People and ending Israel's illegal occupation, as confirmed by the International Court of Justice in its two advisory opinions.
Nicaragua wishes to point out to the Secretary-General and the member states that the escalation of Israeli statements against Nicaragua are unacceptable attempts to discredit the timely, legal actions which Nicaragua is carrying out in defense of International Law and the Charter of the United Nations. The Government and the People of Nicaragua will remain firm in the fulfillment of their international obligations and in the sovereign exercise of their rights to maintain international relations with the Governments and Peoples of the world in conditions of Equality and Solidarity.
The Permanent Mission of Nicaragua to the United Nations reiterates to the office of the Secretary-General of the United Nations the tokens of its highest esteem and requests that this note be circulated as an official document.
